Ethnic Map of Georgia


This map displays Georgia's ethnic distribution according to regions, districts, and major cities (Tbilisi, Sokhumi, Poti, Batumi, and Kutaisi). It is based on data from the Georgian census of 2002, except for the regions of Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, Kakheti, as well as South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which are based on ECMI assessments from 2006 to 2008. As a testimony to Georgia's diversity, the map includes data and geographical distribution of the following ethnicities: Georgians, Armenians, Azeris, Russians, Greeks, Yezidi-Kurds, Ossetians, Ukrainians, Kists, Avars, Udins, Assyrians, Estonians, Abkhazians, Roms/Moldovans, Turks and others.

Ethnic Map of Kvemo Kartli


This map displays the ethnic distribution of the Kvemo Kartli region by highlighting with the colored coordinated graphs the different ethnicities residing in towns and villages throughout the six districts of Bolnisi, Gardabani, Dmanisi, Marneuli, Tetritskharo, and Tsalka. The ethnicities included are Georgians, Armenians, Azeris, Russians, Greeks, Yezidi-Kurds, Ossetians, Ukrainians, and others. The map is based on data from the Georgian census of 2002, with the exception of the Tsalka district, where figures are based on ECMI estimates from 2006.

This map displays the ethnic distribution of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region by highlighting with colored coordinated graphs the different ethnicities residing in towns and villages throughout the six districts of Adigeni, Akhalkalaki, Akhaltsihke, Aspindza, Borjomi, and Ninotsminda. The ethnicities included are Georgians, Armenians, Azeris, Russians, Greeks, Ossetians, and others. The map is based on data from the Georgian census of 2002.

This map displays the ethnic distribution of the Tsalka district by highlighting with colored coordinated graphs the ethnicities residing in its different towns and villages. The main ethnicities settled in this area are Georgians, Armenians, Azeris, and Greeks. Figures are based on ECMI estimates from 2006.

Map of Russian Dukhobor Settlements in Georgia


This map displays the Russian Dukhobor settlements in Georgia, mainly in the districts of Akhalkalaki, Ninotsminda, and Dmanisi, which border Turkey and Armenia. Figures are based on both ECMI assessments and data from the Georgian census of 2002.

Map of the Global Settlements of Meskhetians


This map displays the location and concentration of Meskhetians by country and region globally as of 2006. This map is reproduced from the book The Meskhetian Turks at a Crossroads: Integration, Repatriation or Resettlement? (Berlin: LIT, 2007) edited by Tom Trier and Andrei Khanzhin. The figures are based on research results deriving from a large-scale project conducted from 2004 to 2006, which covered the nine main countries of Meskhetian settlement.
